“Library”

Brightly lit shelves and cheering voices
Of children hearing the call for storytime.
Frazzled researchers sharpening golf pencils
And digging for scraps of paper from their
Hand-written records of family trees.
Lines of the question-filled masses forming
Before the reference desks and the smiling
Librarians, seeing the benefit of their job
With every answer they dispense, every
Mind they help to open, every misconception
They dispel.

  1. I used to be a teacher-Librarian for a few years and loved every minute of it! Librarians are the gate-keepers of the written word and have my undying respect. I sincerely hope that libraries adapt to the changing technological times and remain vibrant and relevant. Good post, my friend. 🙂

    • Thank you so much! I’m looking at beginning my studies in library science, and I’ve been working in libraries for about seven years. I think that as long as they can adapt, they’ll be around forever. 😀
